I just tied the bags to the rear turn signals and didn't do anything to the front, though I suppose you could tie them to the rear peg mounts. One thing: If you load the bags heavily, they may sag onto the exhaust pipes which eventually will burn through the bottoms. I screwed small blocks of wood to the bag bottoms at the spot where the bags would touch the pipes, and that avoided burn through. I don't know what the friction adjuster is all about. The Cortech bags I have don't have this.
