Mine "stuck" on the tank-fitting when I uncoupled / removed the petcock. Removed the filter by carefully engaging the internal bore with a screw-extractor (easy-out) to twist / back it out enough to grip the filter-flange with a needle-nose pliers and work it out of the fitting. Needed to be delicate with the easy-out, to avoid cutting the plastic filter-flange

Subject: [Nighthawk Lovers] Gas tank filter.

I know this has been posted before, but I can’t find it.
What’s the best way to remove the gas tank filter that’s situated where the petcock screws in. Is it possible to remove without damaging/scrapping it.
I need to seal the inside of the tank, so I need to remove the filter.
