When the bike won't start, do you hear the starter trying to kick in? If
not, put your hand on it when you push the starter button to see if you
feel it trying to engage. If not, then I would start looking at that.

I'm thinking about what I would do next if the starter seems to be working.
If it were me, and thinking of our 650 and presuming the 750 is similar, I
would carry a screw driver and a socket that fit the nut for the engine
crank shaft. When the engine won't start, pull the cover on the right that
covers the points, put the socket on the nut and see if you can rotate the
crankshaft. You will have to turn it in the "tightening" direction so you
don't loosen the nut. If that can be turned, I don't think it's an
interference fit. You might want to try this when it's cold and would
normally start to see if you can turn it and how easily it turns. You may
need a longer "breaker" bar to get it to move. and BE SURE THE KEY IS OFF.
I might flip the kill switch just to be safe.

I'll look forward to see what others may try.
