Hi everyone

I bought my Nighthawk several weeks ago, and although it ran, I was not
happy about the slow to warm up condition, I've since heard that is normal
(perhaps because of the oil cooler?) (geez, I wish it had a kckstarter)

Shortly after buying it, I found two concerns. One, was the hose from the
petcock to the fuel rail. It was old, hard and dripping, so I decided to
replace it. I never realized what a job that is. After realizing it had no
fuel filter, (Besides the screen in the petcock), I went to Autozone to
pick up a filter. Wrong thing to do! I was for automobiles with a fuel
pump, and gravity wouldn't run through the paper element. I will look for
one specifically designed for motorcycle carbs.

Two, the anti-dive system. Mine doesn't work, even after replacing the oil
in the forks with the correct amount. It appears the bike was left out in
the weather for a time, I will check the pivot bolt.

I'm going to replace the factory paper filter soon, and I've only found one
place, (overseas) that carries it for the princely sum of $66 USD. BTW, no,
I will not replace it with pods, K&N's, or foam. Honda calibrated the
constant velocity carbs for the restriction created by the stock box and
filter and I plan to stay with that.

Anyone have any similar expereinces?
