Mike, Jim, Ian, and Drew, many thanks for the inputs. Jim, I'd like to take your offer of the '84 650 screen that you have, I'll write to your email. If/when I get it, I'll post what the result is. One interesting item that I didn't write about, but may be related to not having a petcock strainer screen ---- On the last ride of the year, couple weeks ago, I wanted to get the tank as empty as possible, so I calculated the mileage of the ride, etc... Using the reserve for the first time for more than a few miles (5 or less), at exactly 10 miles after switching to reserve, the engine ran out of gas. Was I wrong to think I should have gotten about 25 miles out of the .7 reserve? I haven't reached a solid conclusion yet.
