Unfortunately, at the moment, I cannot afford a D700, otherwise I would buy it immediately. I have tried the camera, I really like it and it would be my perfect "toy". In the meantime I decided to go for a D90, that has the same specs as a D300, but is made of "plastic". At the same time, I really could not justify paying almost double the price just to have a more sturdy camera, especially because digital cameras are still improving and I aim to get a future D700 in a couple of years.
