I have the D700 and use it almost exclusively now!

It is absolutely fantastic for shooting in low light areas. I shot a Chamber concert this week in a very low lit church and shot a few pics on iso3200. After a quick run through Noise Ninja, you'd never know!
That is something I could never do with my D200.

Well then, let's just resuscitate the forum. What are the plans of the list members vis-a-vis the D700? I don't see one in my future for quite sometime
since the D200 is doing an excellent job.
Hi Mel.
I have the D700 and it is an outstanding camera.
I am using almost all of my Nikkor lenses the way they were meant to
be used :)

I like the DX format for travel and am finally upgrading my D100 to a
D300s for that purpose. More to the OP, the D700 is light to carry
and excellent in wide-angle usage. When the D3x sensor migrates to
that form factor (D700s or D700x), it will become my next DSLR body.

Mel thanks for resuscitating the forum and glad to hear that the D700
Is living up to its press Alexander. That helped my statement above.

Unfortunately, at the moment, I cannot afford a D700, otherwise I would
buy it immediately. I have tried the camera, I really like it and it
would be my perfect "toy".

In the meantime I decided to go for a D90, that has the same specs as a
D300, but is made of "plastic".
At the same time, I really could not justify paying almost double the
price just to have a more sturdy camera, especially because digital
cameras are still improving and I aim to get a future D700 in a couple
of years.
