I have only read a couple of the comments in this thread, and I'll read the rest when I have time. But I want to dispell a misconception right of the bat. Nim has had moderators in our various forums forever. This isn't the introduction of moderation in the Nim community. We aren't striking down on anything specific with this change. All this is is creating a more formal structure to our moderation. To write down some of the guidelines that all the existing moderators have followed in order to ensure consistency and to avoid new moderators changing the community in adverse ways. The moderators are only here to ensure that we don't have disruptive trolls, that discussions stay on-topic (apart from the off-topic rooms), and to avoid racism, sexism, or other things that don't belong in Nim related discussions (you write good code, I don't care what colour you are or whatever you identify as).
If you where to have content removed or get temporary bans because of the things you say in this post or elsewhere it is simply because it is disruptive to the discussion, and not in order to suppress your views.
