situation with GDB debugging?

The thing is that I had read and used all the resources on Nim debugging that I 
could find including the ones you link to. But it seems I was so much a 
creature of habit that it did not occur to me that `start` could be the source 
of the problem... That's why I posted the follow up, so that someone coming 
here with the same issue, will find it.
