Also, no modern language was stopped by the lack of a special IDE: Go and Rust got IDE-s from other companies(JetBrains etc) after they became popular, Elixir/Clojure don't really have their own IDE-s IMO. I also prefer e.g. Sublime compared to VSCode, but honestly a lot of the existing IDE-s are as heavy as a VSCode instance, and there is not really something that an IDE can do, that vscode can't
