Took a quick look at the posted "review"
<http://www.applelinks.com/articles/2002/02/20020206124645.shtml>
Can anybody who has used it say whether it has a proper user-defined
style system? The appearance of all those layout controls in a side
"drawer" and an icon saying "rulers" in the top bar are a bit
worrying.
NisusWriter still has a fundamental problem getting styling right
(cut'n'paste, drag'n'drop, just edit and you can easily damage the
formatting as, for example, a paragraph in style A suddenly gains the
layout of paragraph style B - it is the biggest reason you cannot
recommend NW to people who just need a good word processor. BTW: I
use NW all the time, I live with its quirks for its benefits, but
every time I used it I know I will have paragraphs formatted
incorrectly [their format will change as the result of other
non-formatting actions] and that I will have to fix things up).
Nisus X is the big opportunity to fix the underlying structural
issues which cause these problems in NisusWriter. If Okito is already
built without an proper underlying style system we could see Nisus X
being broken as well :-(
So please someone, tell me Okito has proper styles!
