At Thu, Nov 21, 2002, the nimble fingers of Rick Davis typed the following:
>Just thought of a feature I badly want NW X to have. And I should think >it would be pretty easy to implement. > >That is the ability to open any file "as is," like a text editor. I >don't mean convert it, or anything like that. Just pry it open and show >what's there, sans formatting, etc. etc. Sometimes, for example, I want >to open a Word file that way, but I've always had to resort to a text >editor to do it. NW should have that ability. I am expectine Nisus X to be able to do this, since Nisus/Nisus Writer has always had this ability. The Show all Files optiion for the Catalog window allows you to open any file on your hard disk. I often used it to open and save files downloaded from BBS's that were not recognized properly. This is fine for what are originally text files, but can only be used for Word, or Ichitaro (a popular Japanese WP) files, to extract the text from the document and copy it to a different document. -- Mark Smith (InterLingual) <http://www2.gol.com/users/mspsmith/> Translation & Writing Solutions 6-8-401 Asahigaoka, Ashiya, Hyogo 659-0012 Tel & Fax: 0797-31-7999 --------------------------------------------------- The Nisus Interactive List [EMAIL PROTECTED] Searchable archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/nisus-interactive%40nisus.com/ To unsubscribe from this list please send a message with "unsubscribe nisus-interactive" in the body of the email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
