Hi Russ, I have a similar problem. However, in my case Nisus only partially disappears.
I'm using Nisus Writer 6.0.3 on a Mac G4/450 running Mac OS 9.2.2. The problem occurs when I'm using both NW and Reunion 8.0.2, a genealogy application. When I try to switch between applications, normally to see data in the genealogy program to include in my NW document, the portion of my NW document window under the Reunion window disappears when click on it to make it activate. If I then click back on the Reunion window, I get a hodge podge of sections of both windows, but the Nisus window is no longer selectable. A workaround for the problem is to use the Applications menu to select which application I wish to work in. But it's a bit cumbersome. Maybe the problem was solved by the latest release of NW, but I'm holding off on an upgrade until the OS X version is released. BTW, I'm using the latest version of Reunion. which shipd on a CD that contains both a Mac OS 9x and OS X version of the program.
