Personally, I am not too keen on the idea of a Tools drawer and would
prefer to set paragraph and character style settings from menus or
dialogues.
We can still hope for this. After all, the content of the menus is not visible. Maybe these things are there.

It will be interesting to see how Nisus promotes Nisus X's RTF support.
Since it looks like the first version of Nisus X will not support tables,
it will not be fully RTF compliant.
RTF support is built into OS X (you can read about this on Apple's developer site). So, unless Nisus Software has written its own RTF conversion utility (unlikely), NWX will plug into the system's RTF support, and that's where the problem comes in: OS X still does not support much of the RTF standard. If I remember right, OS X currently supports character and paragraph formatting, footnotes, and a few other things, but not tables. I assume that as OS X grows, so will its RTF implementation. At least I hope so.
