Problem solved.
For an unknown reason, when text was dragged and dropped, the right-hand margin symbol either vanishes or, more likely, moves to the left-hand side and hides itself behind the indent and left-side text-wrap indicators. The result is that only one character is > visible.
Sorry for the confusion but it does confirm that it has occurred before to me.
Don't say sorry. It's obvious that your file was affected by a seriuos and odd bug of NW Express. I reproduced the problem and just sent a feedback with the file and a screenshot.
1. Opne New edit window;
2. Drag and drop a *plain* text from another application, Nisus Email, TextEdit in plain text mode, etc.
3. Save as rtf;
4. Open the rtf;
5. Some paragraphs are displayed as one character per line.
Presumably the culprit would be the total lack of tab stop in New document edit window. So an rtf file created by NW Express without tab stop manually added won't have a tab stop. Very odd and non-standard implementation.
