James, Ah, Aladdin's Magic Menu!! There was one of its parts that caused me so much trouble that I disabled the lot. I cannot remember which was the nasty one, sorry. It's so long ago that I cannot check, either as that computer was passed on long ago [see below]. Send me a list of the 5-6 MagicMenu items and I'll remember it. Have you rebooted with Extensions Off; Shift-key down whem restarting? This loads only those extensions needed to boot up. I think this may have fewer Extensons loaded than OS 9.1 All and Base. The quoted spec. of OS 9.1 should not be a problem, but maybe the 48 MB of RAM could be inadequate in the future because Nisus Writer is normally run fully within memory. That does not answer the question about your actual installation problem of course, so we must look elsewhere.
