Hello, Should NixOS now default to GRUB 2?
Yesterday I installed NixOS with GRUB 1, but somehow its stage1 was using the wrong boot device so it couldn’t go any further. I suspect that ‘boot.loader.grub.device’ should be something like ‘(hd0)’ for GRUB 1, whereas the example in NixOS suggests ‘/dev/hda’, which may only work for GRUB 2, or something like that. More importantly, it seems that most of us are using GRUB 2, which leaves GRUB 1 somewhat untested.
