I'm still using GRUB1 because GRUB 2 didn't boot in the past (lot's of IO errors or such). I stopped debugging it that time. Maybe that's fixed now. However grub devs stopped supporting the 1 (or 0.9?) version for month. It still works fine here :) If I encounter any trouble with the change I'll post.
