One final point, the fact that we are all in the same Graduate School means that when a student is admitted, he/she is admitted to the Graduate School of the University of Minnesota, and can move from Duluth to the Twin Cities without re-applying for admission.
In that case one just files a change of status form. This would mostly likely be relevant only in the case where a student earns an MS in Duluth and wants to go on for a PhD in the Twin Cities, but in fact if someone wanted to switch from the MS in Duluth to the one in the Twin Cities (or vice versa) that would be possible via the change of status. So, once you are in the Graduate School, you don't need to re-apply as you move from campus to campus. You would need to apply for funding at the new campus however, since funding decisions are made on a department level at each campus.
