Well, the old list didn't have any fancy web based auto-archiving, so that gave folks like Rick the fun project of building a web-based archive and obfuscating email addresses. It's just wrong that these "services" are taking good-non-paying jobs away from American programmers. I mean, Rick's got a spirit you can't replace with no machine.
