I remember seeing something about this a year and a half ago when I  
got a mo' betta Mac and was exploring solutions for connectivity to my  
Linux box.

I found a discussion somewhere (no idea now) stating that Apple has  
FUBAR'd NFS really badly -- that you have to create a root account,  
then go in and do a bunch of voodoo with configs, yada yada.  I got as  
far as creating a root login and decided "to Hell with it, I'll just  
use Samba".

I hope that's enough info for you to find some info on the various Mac  
fora.
