Not sure how well your vendor OEM windows install will work inside of a VM. IIRC, Dell OEM windows will not boot if it can't find the Dell BIOS. Under VMware it will most certainly not find the Dell BIOS. If its just the generic Newegg-you-bought-a-sata-cable-you-can-get-the-OEM-version-of-windows then you shouldn't run into that problem.
