Depending on what you are wanting to accomplish, it is also possible to get what are called game adapters, or wireless bridges. Benefit being is it is a external device that can be located anywhere to get a better signal without putting the antenna on a cord to resist the signal. Plus it is attached via ethernet and cat5. So the current wired ethernet port is still usable for it, or any number of much easier to configure ethernet adapters. The wireless config is then just a web app away. I used a wireless bridge at one time to link to a neighbors wireless and it was nice to be able to put the bridge over in the window but keep my computer around the corner. This is what I currently have and have used. http://www.pacificgeek.com/product.asp?c=212&s=1059&ID=108239&P=F looks like wireless N bridges aren't too much more expensive if you need it as well. Hey if you had both you could still make them work on the one ethernet adapter you already have. -- Steven Critchfield [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "NLUG" group.
