Why can't SSH handle tunneling multiple ports? I'm pretty sure I'm already tunneling 6, though I haven't simultaneously used them. I suppose I can investigate ipsec. I just already have SSH working. >From what I was reading, (one of) the problems is if the ports are already open on the local machine (which I discovered they are, even though Windows 7 is not sharing any files/printers and none of the network profiles are set to allow sharing....?) The guide I saw mentions a hot patch for XP SP2 to enable associating multiple IPs with the loopback interface... but it's Windows 7. I had some higher priority things pop up, so I haven't been back to investigate what else to do with it. One of the reasons for the original post was to see if it was worth pursuing, or if there was something else more promising (and be fairly secure).
