They have replaced cables by the pole, and all the cable from the pole to the house is new. They rewired a lot of the cable in my house too. There is one split where the line comes into the house, with one branch going directly to my computer. The noise on the line is well within acceptable levels. I too have a SB5120, but this was also was a problem with the new SB5101U modems that I briefly had here. I live in Bellevue, and we had some terrible flooding down our street in May (not us, whew). Perhaps there is a problem somewhere down the line, but I would think I would not be the only one having these problem if that were the issue.
