Part of the Patriot Act was up for extension yesterday (getting the
daily digest has it's drawbacks, I didn't get to post this sooner).
The bill required 290 votes in order to pass.  It failed but only by a
very small margin.

The 277 listed as YEAS are FOR our government spying on us without any
cause or appropriate oversight!

Finding your legislator (Blackburn, Marsha / Cooper, Jim / Black,
Diane / etc.) on there and then let them know they voted wrong and a
brief statement would be very appropriate at this time IMO.  This
extension will come BACK, so it's important to put the word in their
ears now.  Follow the issue and let them know every time it returns.
