I've recently had a WD green drive start going bad. Excessively long
access times & CRC errors, if installed as a regular drive it would hang
the computer. I ended up using a USB adapter and robocopy to just keep
banging away at it until I had all the files off (Yes, I know robocopy
is a Microsoft solution but whatever works...).
