I am considering purchasing a reasonable new (or nice used) machine with a recent version of CPU that can do 64 bit and run ritualized systems.
Does someone have suggestions of appropriate systems? Mother boards? CPU's? My frustration has built, and my old machines I know and love, just won't let me build newer os's. One of my issues is the budget is still minimal, but it will happen soon. Suggestions on the 'next step' is appreciated. ------------ Why? (grumbles and whines continue below) I started today trying to build chrome OS from scratch, but just the build process seems to require a 64bit processor. Last weekend I just tried to install Ubuntu 12.04LTS, but it can't be installed due to a required option in CPUs. (my laptop i855PM, a Inter Pentium M processor is missing the required option) Thanks for your input... ><> ...
