Most consumer and even commercial grade equipment won't have much problem. Older equipment is more likely not to have the right protection.
I have some old Linksys WiFi equipment that has been accidently started without antenna attached, but they are still working. I did power on a Ubiquiti Bullet2 without antenna accidently, but it is still going well.
