The chief aggravation of open source software is the chronically out of
date documentation. Don't you just love the Quickstart guide for Nagios
for Ubuntu 6.10 that "might" work for 7.10... The target server is
Ubuntu 10.04.
So I found a reasonable set of instructions on Nagios letterhead and I
have the Core 3.4.3 software installed. And yes, I downloaded the
plugins, did the ./configure yada yada yada, make and make install. No
plugins in /usr/local/libexec. Why? I note the presence of a mess of
stuff in /usr/lib/nagios/plugins. Am I supposed to symlink stuff or
what????
