I haven't messed with Zenoss yet but Zabbix seemed useful. I think Nagios

Always happy to hear about alternatives, Mark. In this case I _am_ bent on Nagios. (that I am bent is well documented) The challenge here is that always before I came in the middle after the initial install had the kinks worked out.
