If you are in Rutherford county, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, you can drop off electronics with the City (Haley Drive). They will take CRTs for free *IF* you the CRT unit has a power cord attached. Otherwise, it is also $5 each. I took a dozen over there a few weeks ago. Several monitors and some 30+" TVs. Face it. CRTs today are like rotary dial phones! :)
