There are also recycle programs commercially at Staples and Office
Depot, but given where I live, civilization has yet to come to my area,

Jack,
It is not a question of your level of greenness. It is illegal to
dispose of a Cathode Ray Tube in any manner other than a proper
recycling facility due to the heavy metals within.
