Raspberry Pi can not handle the BackupPC. From what I read it has
a i/o problem.

going to be something you might use from a remote location, you might
want to have a UPS and use a fairly robust desktop. Consider what the
power requirements are going to be, what you use for a display (do you
run two or more?). How much noise can you tolerate
Will go in a closet. No display, all access will be remote.
We tolerate ZERO noise!!!
