I'm assuming that part 2 was a message/rfc822; by default nmh will
store that as a new message in the current folder.  Personally I've
always found that default behavior a little sub-optimal, but I've not
been motivated to change it.

I believe that specificing something like:

mhn-store-message/rfc822: %m%P.%s

in your mhprofile should work, but I didn't test it.
