Ok, I did see mention of this in the man page but wasn't certain if that was the correct approach and hesitated because I don't know what other unintended side-effects it might bear. I added the following: mhstore-store-message/rfc822: %m%P.%s And now: $ mhstore 5867 storing message 5867 part 1 as file 5867.1.txt storing message 5867 part 2 as file 5867.2.rfc822 Seems to work as expected. I'll leave it configured this way for a while and see how it works long-term. I agree that this is suboptimal, but I suppose it's arguable that a message should go in a message folder and a simple option of -outdir might suffice to override this behavior. Andy
