If you run "mhfixmsg -decodeheaderfieldbodies utf-8" on the message, it will 
get rid of the cruft in the message itself.

Of course, you can specify an encoding other than utf-8.  The mhfixmsg(1) man 
page has details, including backup of the original message, how to how 
integrate with procmail, and more.
