Job Announcement Postdoctoral Researcher in Epidemiology and Infectious Disease Modeling
Location: Clinical Pharmacy Group, Saarland University, Saarbrücken Campus, Germany https://www.uni-saarland.de/en/study/programmes.html Project Overview: As part of the EU-funded project EUVABECO (European Vaccination Beyond Covid-19), our team at the Clinical Pharmacy Group is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join a dynamic project team aiming to enhance vaccination strategies across Europe. The project involves the further development and adaptation of the COVID-19 Simulator ( <https://covid-simulator.com> https://covid-simulator.com), a mathematical tool developed at Saarland University that has significantly contributed to managing the pandemic through data-driven insights. Job Responsibilities: * Expand and adapt the COVID-19 Simulator for various countries and pathogens. * Conduct simulation-based studies to assess and optimize vaccination strategies. * Implement simulation tools as online services to enhance accessibility and utility. * Analyze data related to COVID-19 and other pathogens, using both public and in-house datasets. * Collaborate with international partners for comprehensive data collection and integration. * Publish and present research in prestigious journals and at international conferences. * Supervise PhD and Master students involved in related research projects. Requirements: * PhD in Epidemiology, Pharmacometrics, Biostatistics, Computer Sciences, or a closely related field. * Strong programming skills, preferably in R, NONMEM, or Python. * Experience in infectious disease modeling using SEIRS, network and/or agent-based modeling is highly desirable. * Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken. * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
