ATM and CC transactions are not the same thing. The ATM uses direct communication to provide real time updates to the bank systems. CC transaction use ACH (Automated Clearing Houses) that serve as middle men and provide interfaces to the merchants. While the ACH can validate the available balance the actual transaction is not updated to the CC company until the batch upload clears the ACH. If you have a debit card attached to a checking account it will use the same ACH system and you will see the same delays.
Some larger organizations (like Malmart) serve as their own ACH. These orgs can typically get their transactions posted within 24 hours. The would be the exception, not the norm though. Basically there is no way to really get the type of service from a CC provider like you are looking for. Hope this helps. Jaysen.
