I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on this board that MW simply looks at amounts.
I think a better approach is to not automatically put unmatched transactions straight into the registry. I like to take a look at what my bank gives because sometimes I get transactions from the credit card that appear informational and don't belong in the registry at all. I'm thinking give me a list of the downloaded transactions and let me manually match. MW does a really good job for the most part of finding the duplicates but I had a issue this morning where MW didn't find a duplicate even though the amounts were exact. -Craig On Apr 9, 2:04 am, Lance <[email protected]> wrote: > Hey Kevin, > > Does the "Merge and Remove Duplicates" feature just look for > transactions with the same date and same amount, or does it do > something more complicated? > > Recently I've manually entered some transactions after I made a > purchase and when I download from my bank a few days later, I've been > finding they don't get identified as duplicates. > > In some cases the amounts are slightly different (which is almost > always the case for scheduled transactions I use on utility bills) and > in other cases the date is different (because it can take a few days > to post). > > Would it be possible to add some leeway into the algorithm in a future > version of MoneyWell?
