I've been using mongoose-auth (based on everyauth), and have not been happy with it. It's a bit buggy, and not maintained regularly. Also, last I checked, it didn't work well with express's error handling.
I'm in the process of switching over to passport. Maintenance of passport is Much more frequent, so it's a solid long term, production solution.
