Schabse,

I don't know, man... Maybe it'll be great. I'm wrong a lot. But it
does certainly get my spidey-sense tingling when the F-word gets
tossed around. (That is, "Framework".)

It'd be super awesome if someone write a compatibility layer that
would use systemtap on linux, dtrace on darwin and sunos, and
etw/perfctr on windows.

Maybe you could do that first. It's harder, but you'll learn
everything there is to know about logging, and probably be in a great
place to make a logging util that people would line up to use.

Or, just solve your own problems, as simply as possible, and don't try
to solve problems you don't have yet. That'd be my advice.

Unless writing a framework sounds like fun. That kind of outweighs
any other reasoning. If it sounds like it'd be fun, just do it until
it isn't fun any more. At least, you'll be having fun, and that's a
great reason. Sometimes you just have to ignore everyone's advice and
do the crazy thing. Even if it ends up terrible, you'll probably
learn something, and it's better than watching TV :)
