Sad is the word. I'm feeling strangely gutted by this, and as someone on
the outskirts of node I don't even know Ben. But I have always been struck
by his willingness to be helpful to one and all on mailing lists and the
IRC who were trying to learn, use, and develop libuv. Those exchanges that
I had with him and witnessed with others greatly impressed me of his
generosity, intelligence, and openness to ideas and/or challenges - those
are critical qualities in a community like ours. And as someone with
personal past experience with startup/founder/exit drama, I hate to see
someone put down what must have been a labor of love in this way. I would
hope there is a way back, if all that is needed is a breather and some time
away. Failing that, I would be interested to find a way to show my
gratitude to Ben in some sort of more meaningful way if others have any
ideas...

It's probably a good day for us all to reflect internally on the meaning of
"community", and what we personally can do (not tell others to do) to make
this community -- our community -- continue to grow, and to attract and
retain good people -- whether they be standard-bearers like Ben, or minor
players like me.

Thank you Ben. And best wishes on your next challenge!
