I remember and I was sick when they had to quit (thanks SOM)!? I had just
gotten over it in DEC and now you bring it up again.? Guess it will be another
10 yrs before I can get over it again.? That was when you got your cards in JAN
and no codes to deal with.? I also remember when you buy the game or card you
got current edition of book "where are they now".? Book with stats for same
year and pic of some of the players.? They're still out as of last yr.?

R U any good with schedules???? We need new one as I played Lou a six game home
and home series and never saw or played him again.? As was discussed yesterday
we like "the good old boys" to play face to face and the only excuse we have to
get together any more you to time restrains the draft and face to face games
are all we have left.? The draft goes back to last league I had also the
NOMBL.? It lastly over 10 yrs but got tired (only 10 teams) of running (before
computer games) the league and no one else wanted to be commish.? As you said
lot of work and thankless at time.? Even now not all our games get played face
to face but the series we have the better the chance some of them will be F 2
F.?

If we are playing softball ..................? All I can saw is thank God for
the DH.? I call DH.? I am in league that plays an all star game at midway
anyone interested in doing that????

Mike hope I live up to the kind words below!!!!

Subject: Remember the 'old SOM Review?

Hello Boys;

I was just thinking of how it difficult it must be running a SOM League..

prob just like the old joke about herding a bunch of cranky cats!

So I was remembering how much I looked forward to that little piece

of mail (SOM Review) every other month and would read it cover to cover

many times.? It was one of the joys of this hobby.? I miss it.

I would like to recognize the hard,?mostly thankless?work done month after

month by our hardworking Robert, and say THANK YOU!

Plus I resolve to get my Cmp mgrs in EARLY and finish my schedule

every month in a timely fashion to assist the record keeping.

I look forward to perhaps a .500 season (yippee) and loads of fun.

I wish we could all get together for a NOMBL annual softball game with

plenty of suds and really meet each other.? Maybe we could make up some

fun SOM softball cards and have a game at the All Star Break?? (PS I can't

hit lefties for my card..)

Geneva

PS? I am serious about helping out.? Just point me and release like a
Labrador!??

I did not mean to infer anything wrong with the League, just possible, maybe
necessary

improvements..? This should be 'our' League and friendly competitiveness should
be encouraged.

Perhaps we could all pitch in and help create a better League for ourselves??
But if you

want me gone, I understand.

I'm not frustrated.? i just want to make it easier to work with.? the excell
files really help.? i am super busy but will help do a file if i had team
info.? i at least like a list of managers names and divisions they are in as
well as a contact info.

Hi Guys;

?

First, I want to assure you that Robert's goal is to have the best strat
league.? Yes, Robert started the league with a bunch of friends and they seem
to get along just fine - trading - playing face-to-face, etc.? They are the
heart of the league.

?

I am not part of the group - but that is Ok.? I?try to help where I can.

?

It is true that other leagues have better websites, more active roster update
and trade notices, etc.? We are the way we are because we are not so computer
advanced to do more than we do.

?

A couple years ago I tracked all trades and roster adjustments and sent it out
regularly.? I did not do this last year as I choose to get more involved at
church and coach a couple little league teams.? My kids are all grown - but I
love?coaching/teaching baseball.?

?

I am in 3 leagues and one of the leagues is having its rookie draft next
Saturday 1/10 so I have been preparing for that.? Thus, I have not taken the
time to type out the rosters in excel.? If someone wants to do that project
great.? If not?I will get to it after my draft.

?

I will make an effort to track all future trades and keep up rosters.

?

I have a few suggestions for rule changes and think others may?have some ideas.?

?

If you get frustrated - please take a deep breath and count to a million.? I
will try to help and so will Robert and the rest of the Virginia guys.? We my
not always agree - but our goals are saimiliar - we want a good league and good
teams.

?

Good Luck and Best Wishes;

?

Jack
