After reading the emails not wanting the DH and certainly don't wont to lose
any of our current managers over DH either. However the email from John
Arcieri brought up some very interesting points.
I want to thank ALL of you for your ideas and comments they were very
interesting and thought out. However I think we should just make very few
changes at a time. I think going to 2 leagues and no divisions is the way to
go. We can always revisit it at the end of next year! I am also thinking
going to top 5 teams go in playoff with 4 vs 5 in 3 game series. Then winner
plays VA I mean 1st place team and 2 and 3 play with # 2 home advantage. All
series except play in game is 7 games and all game 7 games are net-play.
Now do we want to play interleague games or stay in our league???

i feel very strongly against a DH. I'm not even sure I would stick around if

What are the comments on Jacks playoff system (below)? If we are going to 5
teams then i think he is correct!
Also Jack if you like to do the park draft that would be fine. So far you and
I are the only ones drafting. Maybe if you would make list of parks available
plus yours and mine. Remember you have to enter the draft before a deadline
(that you set Jack). Once your in you cant change your mind and once deadline
is past you cant enter the draft. In other words either you want a new park or
you don't.
Also Don I am looking for league presidents and maybe you would like that
position? Jack was one and not sure if he still wants to be one.

I am also changing the MINIMUM AB/IP REQUIREMENTS from 5500 to 6000 total PA
and
1490 to 1550 IP. Every year we have teams running out of pitching and PA so
the best way to prevent that is to raise the minimums. The new IP limit still
only leaves 92 extra innings assuming all games go 9 innings playing 162 game
season. Since there are extra inn games less than that. The PA allows 37 PA
per game and if only 8 players are used that is 4.629 PA per game. This also
means that more cards are drafted and you have to decide if going for 1 crummy
player with 150 IP or 3 average to good pitchers cards. This would effect if
you draft NCR taking the 150 IP pitcher or unable to draft NCR or 2 by going
for
better carded players. This will mean more good players will be able to be
drafted in the following year's draft.

For the 2010 season we will be going to 2 divisions (AL and NL) with the top
4 or maybe 5 teams in each going to the playoffs. In 09 for the first time
we had a team win 91 games in their division and finished third with a team
under 500 going to the playoffs. Thus it comes time to update the rules.
If 5 teams then the team with the best record in each division will get a
1st round bye, 2 vs 5 and 3 vs 4. Also the first round will be ONLY 5 games
as the MLB and game 5 must be netplay! All other series will be 7 games and
again all game 7s must be netplay!
Also since the world series already has 1 of the teams named D.M (and the
other 1 determined this wk end) now is the time to start our ballpark draft!
Anyone wanting a new park (ML ballpark must be used) please advise now. I
will start off the process by announcing (we will be starting our 10th
season in Dec.) VA will be moving from Washington to another park. Thus add
that park to list of available parks to be drafted! Would someone please
make a list of parks currently available??? Assuming the website is correct
(and I am) you should be able to use to assist in this list.
Also I have someone reviewing and updating current rules (SORRY but I have
forgotten who was willing to do that for me). Please advise and update me
on where you are at. We are going to keep the waiver draft (AKA:I stink
draft) as a yearly event. Teams that will be in this draft for 2010 are in
order:

Also VA needs a catch that hits vs LHP, SS to replace inj Jose Reyes,
seeking a closer for 20010.
