Carl may have drafted him as a no card - but Carl cut him and it does not matter if he did or did not know whether or not he was carded - he pitched in 2009 and earned a card. Carl probably knew he was carded - why would a manger draft a player and not watch to see how the player does in the following season. Are you saying Carl does not know who is on his team? I don't think so.
Uehara was cut - is carded - and thus is available.
