How about an exec committee with 5 guys.
If a trade doesn't seem fair it is deemed as such.
The committee is called to cast their vote;  if 3 of the 5 vote that it is not
a fair trade then the deal goes back to the teams for them to tweak?  I bet you
would only have 1 or 2 a year that might have to be voted on?  The 5 guys could
even be somewhat rotated on an annual basis as to not get a good old boys
club;-)
Just a thought?
I also would be happy to help go through the rules if you would like some help?

correction;  "you Jack and Bob"
was truthfully "you Jack and John (A)"

but since we're doing 2cents , Bob Oakman Oakland Buzzards says;
I thought Ohio was taking a huge gamble on Porcello.  I would not have done it
but overall not an agregious trade.I've seen similar trades here in NOMBL.
research proves Diaz a reliable hitter with history and a future , and Dukes
is ... Dukes.

tip of the cap to VA Dublin Ohio and Ports for dealing with this so well and so
swiftly

but I think this 'no trade objection' thing could go in a bad direction ...
could we put it to vote?

Wrong rules say/and I have said more than once comments should be made in
private and It was done immediately;  the same day the trade was announced!!
Some managers dont like everyone knowing who they are for reasons just like
this. We have had several managers quit because of these types of  group emails
going back and forth,  one was brand new.  If someone else wants the job of
finding managers everytime someone quits then fine we can send out to
everyone.

As for someone saying more should be like that this one its just 1 person's 2
cents worth just as you, Jack and Bob did.    This trade was never approved or
disapproved.  There was no comment from me either way as I didnt and still dont
want to go down that/this path.  I have talked to two others that also
agree for C.C one of best starters in MLB and 2 great years more should have
been given.  As for something being said immediately the Diaz trade was
announced with the last file I sent out and no one said a word until now.

I havent said anything either way just that once we go down that path every
trade then becomes subject to protest.  I did ask 1 manager his thoughts and he
gave me his thought off the record but did say I got into this just for FUN and
that is how I am going to keep it.  I am trying hard to keep it that way but
............

Carl had email ready to send out his reply but I asked him not too as I DONT
WANT TO GO DOWN THAT ROAD!  Carl did reserve the right to change his mind.
Guys I am thinking about just taking out the rules for protesting trades all
together?????

I have asked Lou for suggestions on what too do starting Sunday onward.  I
would like everyone that has send me any suggestions on how to proceed in
furture

DO NOT bring up the CC trade and compare these two. thats rediculous. whats
next revoking a tradei made last year? If someone feels that a trade is unfair
something should be said immediatly to the centire league and I heard nothing
about that trade. In fact I remember reading an email commending that the trade
was made and that more should be made similar to the model ofthe CC trade.

Do we really want to get into this trading thing???? I had 2 managers complain
about the C.C. trade and I myself didnt think enough was given for this pitcher
as he had great season both last and this year. However I went ahead and let
the trade go through. So if we are going to redo this trade the C.C Sabathia
trade will also have to be reworked.

HI

As a RESPONSIBLE MANAGER of the NOMBLand as one of the League's Presidents - I
object to this trade.

DIAZ isa guy who is hitting well in MLB
Dukes who was cut by the Nationals at the end of the spring training and has
only been able to secure a roster spot on an independent team.

Did this trade involve the move of draft picks as well such as VIR 2 for POR 10.

If so - then I would think it would be fair. DIAZ ia a quality OF batter.
Dukes isn't.
