Good ideas folks. One of the things i like about the Flory site is that it
lets us see other league constitutions. There's a lot of good stuff in
there. We have one of the better setups and all we need is a little tweaking
here and there. Jack, Brandt,John Lou, and of course Robert have been quite
helpful to me personally and i respect their opinions. In my three years in
NOMBL, i have seen it grow from about a dozen or so conscientious owners
and a few disinterested owners mixed in with some nattering nabobs of
negativity to.. dare i say twenty competitive and fair minded players. The new
owners will find that it may take a while but much more often than not things
work out for the best.
In between the end of our season and the start of our draft maybe
we could submit our suggestions and Robert or a panel of owners could have
them brought forward for discussion then put to a vote and if approved be
effective the following season.
thanks and stay sharp,
Blaine

btw a little off topic here: i have always thought that the i stink draft
should be open to all teams to be fare to everyone. But the players
available to be picked up should change- something like you can only pick up
players with 40ip+ for RP and 80ip for SP and 200PA or something like that.
Right now the perimeters for the draft dont really require you to draft for
innings which is the point of the draft. I like the idea of giving a 2-3 round
predraft of dropped players to help all teams with usage. This still
caters to the teams at the bottom as they still get to go first and I honestly
dont see too many upper tier teams picking up players.
Something to think about next year.

I think teams that are over should have a chance at trading to get there
team rosters + picks back to 41.
As for teams not able to pick up players in the i stink draft. It is what
it is. Mistakes happen and you can't really go back and fix it. I have
never been a big fan of the stink draft anyways. When I first got my team in
this league I was struggling to draft players to cover innings. Since i was
not included in the i stink draft because of my record i had to draft those
players in the regular draft which put me at a disadvantage.
We should give a small window to get these errors fixed by trade or
dropping players and if they are not fixed then just cut there lowest draft
picks
automatically.

the only fair and ethical thing to do with the teams being over in players +
draft picks is the team must cut it's draft picks down to the 41 total.

been available in the stink draft.

equal 41 total players.
