When I earned a living as a touring sound engineer I developed a strong dislike
of misconfigured house PA systems that behaved like this. On small venue sound
systems where the front-of-house mixer also controls the sends to monitors, a
channel mute that fails to also mute the monitors can be an expensive
liability. (It may be useful in broadcast applications).

OP: have you considered using Ardour? It has highly configurable mute points
along with a lot of other fancy features. I currently use Ardour2 (but am
seriously considering changing to Non after 8 years of Ardour use due to
the large number of ++kitchensinks in Ardour3).
