Brilliant idea. Since it will be hard to standardize
we can have a basic template setup and diff Chapters
can improvise around it. I would think it should be in
the local dialect viz Hindi, Bengali, or a mix of that
and English. I would expect a lot of input from
members who have been ragged and have some choice
dialogue that would be familiar, both as the ragger
and ragged.
To bring out the message it should have the overtones
of the evils that we are seeking to prevent - the main
ragger is a 2nd year student (who was ragged the last
year and has since "learnt" the trade), the setting is
the hostel, people are not concerned about school
authorities because they "know" nothing will happen as
a result of a complaint, the idea of somebody being
targeted as a "favorite", the idea that its "good for
them so they will grow up" etc.
If a small group gets good at it we may even take it
to the visual media (aka TV) for a broader reach. But
first, lets try it out on a smaller scale where we
know the area best. Sunil, I suppose that means in a
college in the city where you live.
Since Im relatively far away (!!) I can contribute
through ideas, contacts, and editing the script
template. Ive also written skits in the past. But
ultimately it comes down to the ACTORS who can also
get the crowd into it.
If we have the basic format, we can also incldue the
writeup in our annual newsletter which is now taking
shape.
